EYE'S DESIRE
Lyrics: John Millest
Music: John Millest & Ian McLeish
1.
In front of these eyes
Lies someone no one understands
Can you see past the brow
Into this pupil of a foreign land?
2.
Eyes see what's in front of me, now
But the future doesn't tell it's path
Eyes lead you to taste the glory
Of something you want, but never have.
Bridge.
But eyes can blink and open
And change the light that inspires-
One day you'll come to realize
There is a spark in the eye's desire...

Eye's Desire - Ottawa, Spring 1978.
The only lyrics ever written by John (that he
admits to!), he came to me with the chords and melody for the verses as
well. I loved them and added music for the bridge and the instrumental
section. The vocal parts were envisioned as a kind of Beach Boys
/ Hollies tribute, with Chuck taking the high notes. John's lead guitar
break in this is one of my favourite moments in all of the band's work.
